About

My Nutrition Principles

1. Part of my job is to ensure you never experience excessive hunger. If you ever do, my main job is to clearly teach you how to correct that. Immediately. Your comfort is the most important aspect to me because no one needs to experience hunger to lose weight or manage their conditions. I have helped over a thousand patients as a dietitian - ZERO needed to be hungry to accomplish their goal. 2. There are no "No foods." We need to figure out how to include the options you enjoy instead of pretending they don't exist. There are strategies and substitutions I educate on to improve quantity/quality, but nothing will ever be off limits. I want you to challenge yourself, but never to deprive yourself. 3. I want convey the science behind why these changes are helping you meet your goals. Everything is a discussion during this, but if we understand the basics behind why certain options work together, we will realize the intense amount of variety at your disposal. This results in an expansive experience, not a restrictive one. 4. If these changes are going to last, we need you to eat like you, not necessarily like me. I am supposed to meet you where you are, not the other way around. I want to learn how you normally eat and adjust it (using options you enjoy) to get you to your goals. Since everyone has different tastes and varying understanding of nutrition, every person I meet with has their own unique progression. 5. I do not sell anything. No companies pay me for recommending their options. There are no surprise charges or pay walls. I do not sell supplements. I am very much a food-first person when it comes to supplements making these supplements, well, supplemental. 6. If we only have enough time to correct one thing in a session, I want it to be what you found most challenging since we last talked. Chocolate cravings? I have substitutions and methods to lower volume. Need recipes? I have over 100 saved that I found enjoyable and can tailor any you bring on the spot. Don't like counting things? The person I helped lose the most weight (over 160lb) never even knew his calorie goal at any stage. What do these labs mean? How is this new option I found? What are probiotics? Do meal times matter? How can I gain control over my stress eating? What can I have instead of chicken/fish/turkey? Sustainability is the result of three things: It is working; It is not too hard; It is actually enjoyable. When your intake can be described these three ways, there is no reason to stop. I want to show you how those all come together.
